All WWE rumors and news today

Here are all the WWE rumors, news, and leaks that have appeared on our radar today, May 18.

The Latest On CM Punk’s Return To AEW

AEW has officially announced that Saturday Collision will be added to their lineup of television programs beginning June 17 on TNT.

CM Punk was expected to be a major part of the show but was not present on any promotional material released during the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfronts on May 17.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that CM Punk and AEW are again at odds. This time, Ace Steel appears to be at the center of discussions. Reportedly, there was a belief that after his involvement in the backstage alteration at AEW All Out 2022, Steel was expected to return in conjunction with CM Punk and again be working behind the scenes.

Warner Bros. Discovery stated to ComicBook.com that CM Punk was not currently affiliated with the upcoming Saturday show.

Tony Khan will announce the location for the debut episode of Collision on the May 24 episode of AEW Dynamite. The location is expected to be Chicago, Illinois, to build to the return of CM Punk, but this situation remains fluid.

WWE Has Big Plans For GUNTHER And Solo Sikoa

WWE has existed for over 60 years because of its dedication to evolution and consistent ability to create new stars. With names like John Cena and Roman Reigns firmly becoming part-time competitors, WWE is once again looking to the future, and a new report suggests that WWE has plans for two young stars to be major players over the course of the next decade.

WrestleVotes, through GiveMeSport, reports that WWE sees GUNTHER and Solo Sikoa as two potential top bad guys for the next decade.

WWE feel like they have bonafide main event heels for the next 10 years on the roster already, and they’re going to treat them as such. I’m sure you can figure those two guys out, but the impression so far that GUNTHER and Solo Sikoa have made are putting those two guys at the front of the line for the next 10 years.

GUNTHER is currently the WWE Intercontinental Champion and is the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in decades. Solo Sikoa is firmly by the side of Roman Reigns as part of The Bloodline.

Reported Date For The Next WWE NXT Premium Live Event

The WWE NXT brand continues to grow and is once again getting comfortable hosting events outside of the State of Florida, specifically for their Premium Live Events.

According to a new report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the next NXT-exclusive Premium Live Event will be held on Saturday, August 12. The name and location of this event have yet to be revealed.

The next WWE NXT Premium Live Event occurs on Sunday, May 28, 2023, as NXT presents Battleground from Lowell, Massachusetts.

Roman Reigns Incorrectly Advertised For WWE Live Event

After promotional material began to advertise Roman Reigns for an upcoming untelevised live event in Fayetteville, North Carolina, WWE has now issued a statement to media outlets saying that its Undisputed WWE Universal Champion was incorrectly advertised and they will be offering refunds for the upcoming event on May 20.

Incorrect promotional material was released that advertised Roman Reigns in Fayetteville this Saturday, May 20. Roman Reigns will not be in Fayetteville. Refunds will be available at point of purchase until 7:30 ET the day of the event.

Roman Reigns is advertised for the upcoming WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view, where he will team with Solo Sikoa to wrestle away the WWE Tag Team Championship from Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Roman was also recently advertised for WWE Money in the Bank on July 1 in London, England.
